How long will the fussiness last when an infant teeths for the first time?

My daughter is 41/2 months and just started to teeth. I have not seen any teeth yet, although, she continues to rub a certain spot on her gums and has begun chewing on her pacifier. I do feel a little bump on the area that she is sensitive to. HELPPPP!!!!
